Legal Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 23, 2026
This policy covers theqaiguy.com only. It's run by William Tran, an
individual, not a registered business. If you have questions about
anything below, the best way to reach me is via the
contact page.
What I collect
- Newsletter: your email address, if you subscribe.
This is handled by Beehiiv.
- Comments: your name and email address when you leave
a comment. Your email is never shown publicly — it's only used so I
can reply to you directly if needed.
- Newsletter opt-in on comments: if you tick the
"subscribe" checkbox when commenting, your email is also submitted to
Beehiiv as a newsletter signup.
- IP address: a salted, one-way hash of your IP is
stored, never the raw address. It's used to rate-limit comment
submissions, prevent duplicate votes, and protect the site's admin
login.
Why I collect it
To publish and thread comments, let me reply to commenters, send the
newsletter, and prevent spam or abuse of the comment system.
Who it's shared with
I use a small number of third-party services to run this site:
- Beehiiv — newsletter delivery
- Supabase — database hosting for comments and votes
- Resend — sends me an email notification when a comment is posted
- Vercel — site hosting
Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.
Cookies and tracking
This site doesn't use analytics or tracking cookies.
Data retention and deletion
If you'd like a comment removed or want to unsubscribe from the
newsletter, get in touch via the contact page and
I'll action it.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the site adds new features. The date at
the top will always reflect the most recent update.
